The District Grand Chapter of Down is one of four District Grand Chapters in Ireland located in the Province of Ulster, namely, Antrim, Armagh, Londonderry (Donegal, Tyrone & Fermanagh) and Down. The other ten District Grand Chapters reside in the three other Provinces of Munster, Leinster and Connaught.

All of these District Grand Chapters along with nine Provincial Grand Superintendancies situated around the world, derive their authority from the Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Ireland in Dublin.
